Willie and Taneshia Taggart

Willie Taggart is a nationally respected football coach, educator, and mentor with over 25 years of leadership experience in college and professional sports. Currently serving as the Assistant Head Coach and Running Backs Coach for the Baltimore Ravens, Coach Taggart has made a name for himself by building winning teams, developing young talent, and fostering discipline, leadership, and resilience both on and off the field.

Throughout his career, Taggart has held head coaching positions at five Division I programs—Florida State, Oregon, South Florida, Florida Atlantic, and his alma mater Western Kentucky—leaving a legacy of competitive excellence and transformative mentorship at every stop. In the NFL, his coaching prowess has been widely recognized, including leading the Ravens’ running backs to a league-best rushing average and multiple record-breaking seasons.

Beyond the accolades, Willie Taggart’s passion has always been rooted in creating access and opportunity. His journey from a small-town quarterback to NCAA record-holder and NFL coach underscores the power of mentorship, education, and exposure. With that belief at the heart of his mission, he co-founded The Taggart Family Foundation with his wife, Taneshia, to provide youth in underserved communities with the same tools that changed his life—support, structure, and vision for the future.

Through programs in STEM, financial literacy, sports, workforce development, and global exposure, Willie is helping to close the opportunity gap for young people across the country. His unique blend of national leadership, grassroots commitment, and lived experience continues to inspire youth to dream bigger, work harder, and lead boldly.
